Artificial Intelligence has entered a new period of scientific relevance. It's time to leap from the traditional, rigid, Earth-bound space systems to autonomous, sentient ones. Scientific data must be prioritized, telemetry data must be interpreted with improved accuracy, failures must be mitigated, design must be optimized. AI-based algorithms not only offer increased performances with respect to traditional architectures, but are an enabling technology for advanced mission concepts.

The Space Business Catalyst, Thales Alenia Space's industrial accelerator for intrapreneurial projects and startups working to build the space of tomorrow, continues its momentum by welcoming two new start-ups at the start of 2024: AIKO - Infinite ways to autonomy, developing artificial intelligence solutions for the automation of space operations, and Space DOTS®, developing laboratories for the testing and qualification of materials and small components directly in space. This year also marks the conclusion of a one-year acceleration program for SpaceLocker , the first start-up to join us, which is developing a standardized interface for the future of in-orbit operations. Finally, we are delighted to continue supporting start-ups 3IPK, which offers a blockchain solution to ensure the integrity and authenticity of space data, Orbital Matter, which is building a printer capable of 3D printing directly in space, and Space Cargo Unlimited, which is developing the future of in-orbit production with its Rev-1 module.
