Currently in the Travis build process, I am using fpm (https://github.com/jordansissel/fpm) to build .deb and .rpm packages. I currently specify absolute paths to fpm to indicate python lib/bin paths to use. This is really not ideal. It needs updating for every major python release and doesn't support users with older versions.

There must be a way to avoid this, maybe with fpm? I have not yet figure out how though.
